trucks are cheap up here, cars are expensive.
where i'm from "the beach" trucks are rediculously overpriced, and cars are cheap.
but check out rhode island craigslist. there are good deals sometimes. i found 4 trucks for more than $3000 that are worse than the one i got

Good luck, we had nothing but trouble from our V6 Explorer. 2 engines and 2 transmissions WITH good maintanence and my mom driving it (not hard at all).

Huh. Maybe the old ones are better. Ours was a 2000. We had about 70000 mi. on the first engine, 90k on first tranny, 50k on second engine, and 40k on second tranny. I think the second engine and transmission may have been faulty though.

mine and the older model have a 4.0L OHV V6 and mine has the M50D-R1 5 speed manual
the new ones have the 4.0L SOHC V6, and the OHV, but have different bolt patterns and cylinder head configuration. and if you went through so many trannies, then you must have had the 4R55E or the 5R55E ( 4 and 5 speed auto respectivly) theres no way you could have broken 2 4R70W trannies, they are used in the mustangs.
