2.3 tech wanted
i'm looking for good tech articles, so anything 2.3 specific, detailed, and preferably with your own original pictures would be awesome. if you have an outstanding writeup, you can get a contributor tag under your name. regardless of that, everyone will be credited for their work. hopefully we can get a good FAQ going for both modifications and common troubles/fixes. pm me with anything you'd like to send in, be it questions or writeups. thanks guys

Here are some articles that I frequent pretty often. They have helped me out immensly in understanding the Volvo Head swap, as well as how the EEC-IV computer works and how to tune it. Hope these help!
http://www.merkurtech.com/merkurtech...es/item045.php The Famous Merkurtech Site for the Volvo Head Swap
http://www.geocities.com/_nitro_/ This is a far better site for the Volvo Swap. Has more detailed info and is more of a step by step process.
http://www.40bob.com/ 40 Bob's web site. Has gutted and polished intake and exhaust manifolds as well as a couple other interesting parts.
http://www.austincc.edu/cloud/efi/eectch98.pdf This is a PDF about the Ford EEC-IV system. Its a collection of info gathered over time all compiled into one document. Really interesting. Also has some info on tuning the computer.
http://www.austincc.edu/cloud/efi/amarch/eec.htm A page with links to almost anything you could want to know about EEC-IV systems.

If you are military or know someone who is you can create a user name and password for NKO (Navy Knowledge Online) and in there you can find a do it yourself section that allows you to use automotive technical publications for cars and trucks from the 1930's to 2010.
The blocks in the n/a and turbo 2.3's are identical but there are several variations of cylinder heads and camshafts. Turbo engines have a built bottom end but the n/a don't that I recall. 2.3's also have 2 dipstick holes. One of them in in the front right between the filter and oil seperator used on pinto's. The other is in the rear right on other models. Any crankcase psi will blow oil out the hole onto the distributor.
