Default External Wastegate?

Hey, I'm going to be running the stock T3 on a 1986 Turbocoupe motor.

I hope to be running 20Psi or more. The motor is fresh with Sealed Power dished aluminum pistons. I'm going to be running a Ranger roller cam.

Now onto the question.....

I have to replace the internal wastegate and actuator on my turbo. I'm going to be running a manual boost controller. I was thinking of converting to a external wastegate??

Maybe use the hole on the exhaust manifold for the EGR and put a wastegate on that?

Or maybe one of these:

Will a internal wastegate do the jod without trouble? Let me know what you guys think.

that looks pretty neat, but you'd have to check shock tower clearances if you're gonna be moving the turbo over with that. also, you might be limiting premade exhaust options by having that spacer. you also might have problems with the bolts backing out and being a bitch to tighten in car.

it's definately not even close to ideal, but my car actually has the wastegate flange welded onto the top of the turbine housing and it works alright. i definately like being able to adjust the boost with a hex key and if i really want to boost big, by adding some washers into the wastegate to stiffen up the spring even more.

if you've got cash to burn, check out stinger's tube headers, they have wastegate provisions http://www.stinger-performance.com/headerparts.html

Not enough room for the adapter.

Dont waste your time with an external wastegate unless youre going with a custom header. Im running an internal gate and 21psi. Ran 22psi with an internal gate on my old turbo.

From a performance standpoint it's a good idea, but if you're still running the stock exhaust manifold, save your money. If you're going all out then yes, you want to do this for better flow. That adapter looks like a bad idea for what you're wanting.
