Default Piston slap

Well the old 89 has what I think is piston slap. It only makes this noise when it is revved and then decelerates in neutral. Seems to run fine tho.
If I just drive it around town and don't go ripping around like a moron, how long do you think it will last me? Long enough to get a new momo together? It might take a few months. Even the machine shop is slow as he11.

I don't think you want to be driving to long with your engine like that.... order all the parts you need and build it yourself, I'm sure you can get it done in one day, 2 days tops

I'm not going to fix this engine right now.
I have a 2.3T engine that's at the machine shop, but it's going to take them a while.
This is Slowsville. Evberyone does stuff for their buddies 1st, then take care of business.
And ordering parts is a PITA too. If it's not on the shelve they "Can't get it".
So if this will last me a mont or so, I'll be getting my new momo into it, and THEN
I can worry about how to get this one even better.

Order the parts, Plenty of 1-800 number company. That is what agravates me. Local companies complain of people ordering parts out of town but when you try to get local they won't do it. I tried to order some parts local auto parts. They were a distributor for that part. Gave them part number I got from internet. And was told they could not get. Just don't understand.

Around here it is just plain laziness. You go all over town and find lazy people who just want to do the minimum to keep their job. I might just keep my ZX2 and grab the LX 2.3 5 speed hatch over in Platte City.
At $150 it's a rag with a blown out head gasket and missing parts, but whatDaHe11? I'm putting a new engine together anywho! And it's white, so I can paint it TittyPink if i want.
