Not to bust anyones bubble but the 2.3 has been a bit faster in other cars. http://www.dragtimes.com/Ford-Probe-Timeslip-11839.html

Maybe so, but Huber's and Flanders' cars are both completely street legal and haven't been completely stripped down. Flanders' car is ~3000 lbs in race form, and many of the parts he is using are found on stock 2.3T cars.

Well all this is true you wont find many stock parts in our engine program. But I will say weve been in the 9's or fasterfor the last 7 years and our only issuses have been 1 broken wrist pin and 2 burpped head gaskets. So as for integrity of the components you cant go wrong upgrading a few things.
I also think thelongevity of our engine has been do to the fact of what a mild tune it has. 30psi or less and only 750rwhp. We could have steped up a few years ago and had it in the 7's, but its a dependable 5 speed bracket car.

Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not knocking the Probe, that car is obviously crazy fast, and honestly I had never seen it before. Nothing wrong with a mild tune, they last a lot longer that way, makes the habit a bit cheaper at least. 7's.....has that been done before with one of these engines?
