Default Project Betsy

I know I shouldn't get ahead of myself with project broken nose and all, but my car is driveable as of now and i can't anyone for sure that has what I'm looking for. so in the meantime: i was looking at a jy today for a front end when i found a 88 2.3l mustang (VIN A). the engine is in great shape and the wiring harness is good. i was thinking of doing a turbo build-up since it's impossible to find a turbo engine around here. even ebay and craigslist are hit and miss. this engine is very similar to the turbo engine (distributor, upper and lower intake, etc) i know it will be more expensive, but i put in an application at autozone yesterday. jobs are very plentiful around here because of the boom in population and the increase of welfare. the people at autozone are clueless: they can't tell the difference between a engine and a tranny. i often tell them what a part is and what it does when go pick up something. so i think i have a chance there. plus the build-up would be a great learning experience for me. anyway, i'll go to the jy again to pick up a screw cap for my gas tank since mine dry rotted. and i'll take some pics of the engine while i'm at it.

All you need is forged pistons and some head work done. BOOM, 2.3 turbo lol

I was thinking of swaping in a turbo head. Which, i think would add a certain element of "cool."

Not on a N/A. You'll lose power

The open head will bring your compression down which means less power on the N/A.

No hands... I'm working on it all next week and I'm porting an intake for it I also bought a sandblaster so I can be done with rust

The EFI 4 bangers are Dport, which is closed chambered

Oh, your going turbo? Then yes you need a turbo D-port or an oval port with turbo valves

The only difference between the N/A and turbo head is the turbo has an open chamber, where as the N/A has a closed chamber. All the looks can be switched over to the N/A
