Drum Brakes

Hey all. Hopefully someone can help me out real quick. The little adjuster wheel for the drums keeps coming loose. I tighten the drums and then it seems like within a couple days they are loose again. I believe this is causing some clunking during braking and also squealing for some reason. I just replaced the rotors and pads up front so I'm almost positive it's not there. Any suggestions? Thanks.

when was the last time you replaced drums and pads in the rear?

on the rear shoes, the star wheel adjuster should not be able to back off it's adjustment.

if it does, then the self adjuster spring, cable or guide is broken or mis-installed.

The adjuster should only tighten unless the self adjuster bracket is somehow being pushed off the teeth of the star portion.
