Default 93 2.3 liter swap into a 1988 body

I have a 1993 2.3L running gear that I want to swap into a 1988 convertible body. What do I have to do to conver the 88 to accept the eletronics of the 1993 engine? Or can I just swap a distributor into the 1993 block? Im looking for any suggestions before swapping.

Thank you

i'm not sure about the distributor into the '93 block. I don't why you would wanna go from the 8 plug set up to the distributor set-up. But I got a buddy who put a '92 2.3 into his '87. He said it requires the the '92 ecu('93 in ur case) and He had to play with the wiring too. I'm not too sure whats involved. Why do you want the '93 2.3 in the '88? Does the '88 still have its original motor?

oops I forgot about the 8 spark plugs. I have a 93 vert that I bought from a guy that moved from Minnesota and the back frame is starting to rust among other things, so I have an 88 vert that is a Florida car with no rust that I bought with the motor in pieces so I was trying to swap drivetrains.

the 88 motor is apart and needs to be checked and put back together. I got it all apart in boxes. The 93 is running. I guess Ill take the whole harness out with the ECU from the 93 and put it in the 88

I've never swapped a wiring harness before but i've been told it is a b*tch. Talk to Babybudistmonk he seems to be very knowledgeable also try talking with TRBOPWR. Both have been really helpful to me
