Default 2.3t efi converting to carb.,whats needed?

My friend just got a 89 fox like mine with a 2.3t in it,its missing the upper and lower intakes ,fuel rail/injectors etc, turbo ecu, he found a lower intake and carb off of the early 80's 2.3t for a good price.so if he wanted to make it carb, what all would have to be done?fuel pump wise an stuff..thanks for any input on this

I wouldn't, Maybe going down in power, efi more dependable. Now from what I read the original carb are getting hard to find and not that great. [words from 2 people met in a j-yard getting them] Maybe able to go with Weber carb or differant carb. Esslinger racing maybe has something. ?? Pricey.
The 89 is efi with pump in tank will need regulator or differant pump. EFI has too much pressure. Unsure on ignition since the 89 ignition is in with the EFI/eec computer.
I recommend search around j-yards for Mustang or Ranger and get proper parts, Maybe could get cheap from engine pulled someone going to turbo. Buddy hauled one away for junk because he couldn't sell it. Maurice
