Default 1984 LTD, 1991 2.3L

At some point I grabbed a 2.3 N/A (with the engine wiring harness) that came out of a 1991. That car was an automatic. I'm looking to grab an A4LD from the junk yard (with tq converter and flywheel) to mate to the motor, as well as any wiring/ECU stuff, and then throw it in my 1984 LTD wagon (CFI 3.8 is kaput).

I'll probably grab as much engine/trans related wiring as I can from the junk yard, just to make all that easier down the line.

On the transmission, it depends what's lying around in the junk yard when I go. I think the later 91-93 A4LD transmissions has some electronic stuffs inside, right? I've read that can be removed with a rebuild using the older internals (going to rebuild it anyways, just to be sure it's functional, and improve what I can). Anything else to look for here? Is there anything weird with the aluminum oil pan on the 1991 motor? Otherwise I can pull pretty much all of that straight out of a 91-93 car, no worries, I assume... The LTD has a column shift. If that's an issue I'm hoping I can pull some Ranger parts on the linkage if I have to.

Now for the motor itself... If I grab all 91-93 trans/ECU stuff, I should be good to go. If I find 87-90 stuff, is there anything I'll need to grab for this motor to make it work?
