93 2.3L Throttle Body...

93 2.3L Throttle Body...
Just bought a 93 2.3L Convertible. It is stock all the way around. Plan on buying different wheels/tires, exhaust and so on (basic stuff)...
But, my question is about the throttle body. I dont want to switch it out for a bigger one (unless I do the intake manifold and exhaust as well). BUT, does it help with just putting spacers under it?
New to throttle bodys! LOL I am a "old gear head" from the 70's that is use to working on harley 4 bangers!
Haven't worked on my own cars in a LONG time, so I thought this would be a great project car for my 14 yr old son and I to turn some wrenches on. Plan on giving this to him on his 16th BDay.
Any links that someone can suggest in regards to working on these 2.3L? Or perhaps manuals? Thanks all. I am just a bit overwhelmed with all of the info here on the web and want to narrow it down.
