Tach comes in and out while driving

I am knew to this site, i have a 91 4 cylinder mustang, while i am driving the tach comes in and out while i drive. Im not too sure whats going on. has anyone had this problem with thiers? Any suggestions on how to fix it? Thanks.

I can't remember usually a coil pack or ignition module on the 8 plug engines that do that.
Here is link for trouble shooting a 8plug. I know says Ranger but same motor and only on link I can find for the 8plug engine. Maurice
