Default Transmission going out?!

Hello all,

I just bought a 95 gt about 2 weeks ago...and for the past few days I have noticed that while trying to accelerate in first gear it takes off very slowly. It is a manual and I noticed it does the same thing while going into reverse also. It feels as if I am trying to move from idle to go but starting out in 3rd gear. I get to about 4-5k rpm before I get to atleast 5-10 mph in first. Is my transmission going out or did something break along the lines between my transmission and clutch? I'm fairly new to mustangs and manual cars, so I know very little on how to trouble shoot. Or trying to figure out what could be the problem to say the least. Any ideas?[&o]

Can you tell if your clutch is slipping?

sound like your clutch is bad try going out at about 40mph in 5th gear and floor it if your rpms go up real fast and you dont really go any faster your clutch is more than likely bad

I do not think my clutch is slipping. Everything sounds fine with the engine, I'm just not getting any power off the start. Eventually it will get going, but I'm kinda hesitant on taking it out because I'm not sure if I can make up these hills.
