Well 6.500 is a quarter of an inch longer than stock. I don't see why you can't bring them in closer with stud mounted rockers!? That's the point of having stud mounted so you can adjust the lash to zero indtead of having to shim the spring with pedestal mount rockers...

I think your mechanic does not know what he is talking about, because if the push rods were to short it should make a lot of ticking noise.

if your push rods were too short you will be hearing alot of lifter noise/rocker noise.
on first start up how the hell are your lifters pumping up???.your valve train is very critical..

thats what im saying so it cant be that unless he has a lot of ticking noise. i think the guy is just trying to make some money and mess up his car then tell him it is not worth anything and buy it from him cheep, because it will bend the pushrods if you put the 6.500's in there they are to long i will bet $500 on it. like 86HOGT said they are .250 longer. i dont see that working out i see a lot of problems.

I was thinking the same thing. I called Edelbrock and they told me stock Pushrods were fine. But this guy thinks other wise.

I ordered the 6.500, and I ordered the hardened stock ones. Hes going to put them in so if he breaks somthing hes liable and is going to be paying for it.

Im not paying for his f*ck ups.

pull covers losen rockers slip out Pushrods install new ones

you donteven have to remove the rockers. just loosen them

and you dontneed fawking pushrods. your idle issues is from teh fawking TB

this is why i hate this site from time to time. ppl dont listen and go do what they want. and then they come back bitchign about ****. be a man learn how to do it yourself. and do research before doign something. ppl want you to spend money.

I understand where you are coming from, But I do need hardened pushrods so either way I have to spend the money, I just need to know what size.

Im trying to listen to you guys, but when im getting different info from different people its hard to know whats right.

I did pull the valve covers off and checked but I wouldnt even know what to check for, Im a noob when it comes valve train and valve train geomerty. I also did a compression test and im not getting as good compression as others, plus it wont hurt to have a pro do it for me, so if somthing breaks he is liable for the damage.

Its not the idle thats the problem, quite frankly I like the idle it sounds preety kick ***.
