Front Bumper / Fog Lights

Front Bumper / Fog Lights
Hi,
Just wondering if it is possible to replace the rounded lower front section with the fog lights lower front section - if that makes sense? I am not sure if the fog lights just came on the GT, but the car I am looking at does not have them and its hindering my decision to buy. (Its a 91 5.0L LX) If it is possible, how hard is it, and how much would it cost, provided I did all the work myself. Thanks very much.

Regular LX foxes didn't have fog lights.. I you MUST have them, you will need to install a GT front and rear bumper, and all ground effects for it to look right. BUT IMO I like LXs better... GTs look kinda gawdy as long as its a hatch.. In a convertable I don't think they look right unless its a GT.. but in a hatch I like LXs.. Not that I wouldn't have a GT I just like the LXs better... Anywho just my opinion.. But like I said if you must have the fog lights, you have to stick the GT stuff on it.

If you like the look of the LX and want foglights you have 2 options.
1) replace the front bumper cover with a GT AND add all of the ground effects (including an new rear bumper cover)
2) get smaller fog lights and bolt them into the lower opening of the LX bumper cover.
For my .02 get the LX and ofrget about the fog lights.
If you get the fog lights you will also have to wire them in. As I understand it the harness for the LX's already have the connections for the fog lights (both behind the bumper cover and in the dash) {at least my 91 LX Hatch does}. You will also need to replace the dash switch as the fog light switch in the LX is a dummy switch.
Good Luck!

I have seen LXs with JUST the GT front bumper... I think it looks like crap personally.. I wouldn't do it.. I am with him I would just forget about fog lamps, if you get some little fog lamps and stick it on the bottom of the LX bumper it will look like JC whittney exploded on the front of you car.... I YOU MUST have them....wait and find a GT.
