Man don't bother trying to beat your buddies Z. I have driven one of those stock and they are unreal. Buy the new Shelby then you can take him.
i've never driven one, maybe they feel fast but, i know that they run high 13s and low 14s. same as a stock 5.0
with an equal amount of $ dumped into each of them, i believe the 5.0 would be much faster.

700-800 HP is useless, its nice to hear someone say they got those numbers, specially if its yourself, but unless you've got a full rear end build up on slicks, thats power you're not putting down, a street car isn't ever seeing over 600 HP if its true street, cause that can't be put down with out a fuill rear end build up on slicks.
My street car has air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, power windows and locks, full stock interior, and makes over 600rwhp through an AOD on 91 octane. The car weighed 3205lbs without me in it and went 10.40s @ > 131mph two Saturday's ago on the same radial tires I drive it to work on. The rear suspension has Lakewood 50/50s and cheap Lakewood UCAs/LCAs. It still has stock rear springs, stock rear sway bar and no air bag. There are no trick parts back there. It does have good axles though (as if that makes it hook good). The times are actually poor for the power it has, but at a certain point, you don't need bumper dragging suspension to still get some decent times. The rear suspension is actually my next area to address. The current suspension setup is left over from when it was a stock longblock nitrous car and ran 11.6x w/ the AOD. Also, my dyno numbers were at 13psi at only 5700rpm. It lost a header gasket so they stopped the pull because of the a/f reading. To the flywheel, it's probably around 750hp on 91 octane and it's 100% street car. There are pics of it in that long thread going on right now.

Try sticking to giving advice on something you have experience with.
