Which 5.0 to use?
I am swapping my 89 convertible from the 4cylinder to a 5.0. I have an excellent 5.0 donor motor from a 32,000 mile crown vic. I also happened upon a burned up 88 Lincoln Mark VII and snatched the 5.0 H.O. motor and trans from it. All the efi crap was toasted so I stripped the top end stuff off and put a Edelbrock 2121 intake and 600cfm carb on it to see how it ran and it did really well. No smoke and sounded really good despite being on fire and over a 100,000 mi. on the motor. I also bought a set of gt 40p heads I would like to put on one of these motors and use it in my Stang. Im not sure if there will be a big power difference between the two motors after the head swap anyway. I know the Crown Vic motor is exceptional as it belonged to my elderly friend who was rear ended and the car was totalled. The Mustang is going to be carburated when finished. Will I need to change the cam also? Thanks for the pointers.

RE: Which 5.0 to use?
IF YOU USE THE H.O. MOTOR YOU WILL BE GOOD AS IT IS THE SAME AS A MUSTANG,THE CROWN VIC MOTOR WILL NEED A CAM SWAP TO THE H.O. CAM AS ALSO THE FIRING ORDER IS DIFFERENT ON THE NON H.O.
