Yes, it tries to start it just wont fire and I have spark and fuel. Everyone once in a while it will sound like a small back fire, but it sounds like it comes from the header area and not at the exhaust.

180 off! it pops ....pull the dis out bump it 180 reinstal set timing done

On the fan, do you have thermostat control, if so it will not run until the water heats up.

It does have a thermostat control. I will probably take another suggestion and just wire it to a switch. I have disconnected that for now until I can get it started.

My first thought was timing as well, but I just couldn't believe that I could have it that far off (180 degrees). Just for my own clarification, the number 1 cylinder needs to be at TPC and the distributor rotor needs to be pointed at the number 1 cylinder, correct?

remember 2 revolutions for crank to one for cam
