I dont know about most people but if i were you i would avoid the gears for now. Get a tune and do your reg. maintnence first. I would hate to see you blow 300 or so dollars on gears when you could put that into plugs, wires, timed, and so fourth. Do the little stuff first....if anything when you go to change the rear gear fluid (which you should do) then do your gears. Make the rear end last. Just make sure the car runs solid and then mod.

I should of mentioned that first. Make sure the car is in good operating condition. A tune up, etc. is a must first before any modding.

How much will it cost to Do gears and what do u mean by gears first. 4.10's?
You usually can have a shop do the gears for ~$400, that's including the gears. Sorry, forgot you're coming from the world of front wheel drive

If you look under your stang from the back, you'll see a "pumpkin" in the middle of the rear axle. That is what people are referrig to when they say your rear end. There are gears inside that transfer the engine revolutions to the axles/wheels. Being an auto, you probably have 3.08's, maybe 3.27's. Going to a 4.10:1 gear means that your drivetrian spins 4.1 times to turn the wheels one full revolution. This decreases the load on the engine and helps it reach the torque curve more quickly. Gears are the best bang for the buck mod you can do as far as acceleration and performance, but like the others said, a full tune up and maintenance should be done first.
