fuel filler door

Default fuel filler door

hello i have an 87' 5.0 and every time i press the fuel door release button the fuse goes out.yeah i thought i could figure out the problem and blew like 7 or 8 fuses. has this problem happened to anyone or can anyone share some help . thanks. by the way all this happened at the friggin gas station while my "low gas" light is on.

I had that problem on my 88 stang. All I did was take the spring and latch off the fuel door and now I don't even need to push the button. Unless you have to worry about your gas getting siphoned out of your tank. If thats the case I would follow the wires from the button to the tank and check for crossed wires or a short somewhere. Who knows it could be just the button itself. Hope that helps.

ya know what the funny thing is, i had that same seat cover for my stand when i bought it.
