sorry if this is in the wrong section but i figured that i asked the 4.6 boys and now am wondering what the 5.0 guys think. they say he will smoke me what do u all think? i was wanting to know how well i would fair against a 01 svt cobra they have full exhaust 4.10's, drag lites, short shifter, and sct chip tune not sure on nething else.

If he's on drag radials, and you're on street tires, he'll sweep you without a problem. Tires make a HUGE difference.

yea especially on yhose 16inch pony wheels. see if you can borrow a set of rears from a friend with slick on em. or atlest a friend to borrow a set of 17s for the back. you wont do nothing but spin on the 16s but itll be hard to catch any traction no matter what do you. unlees you got some good tires before you race.

It depends on if you're still running your current mods or if you have any of those new ones on there. It should be pretty close even w/ the new mods. Then there's always the driver mod..............

its all pretty much gonna boil down to the driver & tires. if he has drag radials i say him, if you get a good set of tires to stop you from spinning so much, then i say its going to depend on who hits the gears better. as for hp wise hes prob got you beat a little. esp if you dont know what else he has done to the car.

I don't really agree with these two guys. I think you have ample enough power to beat him with all the mods you have. Your only problem is gonna be traction. I think if you feather it out on launch and just fully lay into in once in mid of second gear and spray hard you should be able to catch up. As long as you have all your current mods on as well as the *new* mods you are lighter than he is and probably produce more power. Try to get a best of 3 thing going. That way you can feather it out on the first run and see if you catch up. If not then be more agressive next time. If I were you I would go practice lauching before you race him. See where your "Sweet" spot is. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
