Default How to patch a hole on a convertible roof

Hi everyone, a few months ago my car got broken into and about a 2 weeks after that someone poked a hole in my roof on my convertible. Its not a very big hole. I would say it measures about 2" total. I would like to try and repair it, if possible. I heard that there is some vinyl stuff that might work but I am not sure. I have taped if from the inside and everytime it snows or rains here my seat gets wet and the tape doesnt work very well. If anyone has any ideas or anything on how to fix it to make it look decent, please let me know. Thanks a lot.

If you are determined to keep the top you have go to a fabric store or a craft store and tell the lady what you need weather its a patch or what. Tell her what colour it is and what type of fabric it is.

Yeah, im planning on keeping the top because I live in an apartment complex right across the street from a high school, so there are a lot of young kids that live around me, so if I get a new top, It will be when I move into a house with a garage. It would just be a waste of money since it will probably happen again. What kind of material is the top anyway on the mustang? Mine has been replaced a few years ago before I bought it and I dont know if its the same material that came from the factory or not.

I think it is a sort of vinal but I don't know. You will have to wait for somone who has one to post it. If it is vinal I know there is stuff called something like Liquid Vinal that is used to repair furnature. So you might want to try a furnature store if all else fails.

A patch will be your best chance. My only question or concern would be where the hole is and if you are going to have to take it off.Convertible tops can be a ***** to put back on right without damaging it more.

The hole is on the passenger side and right above the seat. Like I said, its not very big. Its more like a tear than an actual hole.
