Engine swap Opinions???
I have made a couple posts about this before, stating how i have a wrecked 89 5.0 and a 94 6 cylinder. I planned on swaping out the engines and everything. But the more i talked with people the more i learned i would have to change...or run into problems with. Well my 94 is in really good shape with only 81,000 miles so im sure i could get around 3500 for it. My question is do you guys think i should sell my 6 and look for a 5.0?? Or should i just pull the motor and swap it??

RE: Engine swap Opinions???
Things I would be concerned with
The rear end - I think the sn95s all came with an 8.8 though.
Fuel - A new fuel pump may be needed, if the stock v6 pump can't keep up with the v8. The fox pump may swap over though. If used intelligently, some high pressure fuel line will wrap up any connection issues.
Computer - You have a v8 computer and probably could re-pin the harness to make it work.
Bellhousing - The v8 bell may work?
Exhaust - I don't think this would be much of an issue. Used v8 sn95 exhaust systems are all over the junk yards.
You are probably aware of all that (and more?) though, because you have done some research already.
If you are into doing the swap because of the challenge, then this would be a blast for you. If you just want a v8, then it may be best to go out and buy one, saving yourself the headache.

RE: Engine swap Opinions???
i think it would definately be easier to buy the body of a 5.0 stang and put the V8 in it....i just recently bought two mustang bodies one 83 for $200 and one 85 for $350...i then bought a 69 Boss 302 to put in...just look at junk yards or in small time magazines for adds for a cheap body...but my bodies i gotta basically redo everythnig u spend bout $800 u should be able to get a body for a 5.0 in good condition

The V6 car will have a 7.5. The axles and brakes are the same though on it an the 8.8 in the GT. You can take the rear end housing from the fox car and swap the brakes and axles and it be right for the 94. To swap the motor and trans you need the wiring harness from the computer to the engine bay and the wiring for the injectors. You can use the Fox front brackets and accessories if you set the motor back an inch in the K-member. You do this by slotting the holes in the k-member one inch back. This works great if you swap the fron t accessories to the correct 94-95 front accessory brackets. The radiator will work for the meantime. If your 94 is a 5 speed you can use it but, you will need a 94-95 bellhousing. Isn't not a bad swap if you can do the work yourself.

RE: Engine swap Opinions???
You will need the 94-95 GT 5 speed computer. Alot of people say to swap to the A9L. Most tuners know how to tune them because they see more of them and they are common. The 94-95 computers people complain about them. I have never had any issue with them and my car is nowhere near stock. They just need to be tuned properly.
