Default Heater Core Question

Whats the difference between heater cores that go in a A/C vs non-A/C mustang? All the A/C components were removed from my car, and the heater core was bypassed. So I hooked the tubes back up to the heater cores inlet/outlet and antifreeze came out a third tube where my A/C use to be. Can't I just cap that off? Whats it purpose? Anyone Know? I got the Hayne manual but it dont tell me **** about it!

I wouldn't think there would be a difference. If you hooked it up and water came out of it, it more then likely needs to be replaced. It should only have an inlet and an outlet on it. It looks kinda like a small radiator.

Yea but the tubes are bent in different directions for AC and non AC vehicles. I have the same problem.. I took my AC off but I wasnt sure which one to get but I ended up getting the one with AC (the lines are bent). I am installing soon, I will let you know how it comes out.
