Default 95 GT is too slow!!!

Alright. I will start by stating that I DO NOT know much about cars yet. Im still researching and learning. I own a 95 mustang gt 5.0, and Im tired of my roommates always making fun of my car. One of em has a eagle talon, another has a nissan sentra, and the third has a honda accord. The one with the eagle has already beat me on takeoffs[sm=headbang.gif], but I start catching up. I dont care about the gas milelage teasing, but now they call my GT the "5.Slow." The car has very slight mods. it has a shift kit (AOD tranny) and a cold air intake. the problem is that even though they make fun of my car, I do believe my mustang is slower than it should. when I start it in the morinings to warm the engine up, the whole car is shaking. I dont drive the car hard all the time. I floor it only once or twice a week and only for a few seconds!

The point is that Im starting to believe my friends that my car is too slow for a 5.0 v8. Im doing an exaust this weekend (bbk shorty hearder, off-road H-pipe, and mac cat back).

So do you guys think something is wrong with my car?
If not, what kind of mods can I do after the exaust?
I bought the car with the intake, how do I now if the mass air is set up right?

I will appriciate some backgrounds, and opinions.
Thanks[sm=dontgetit.gif]

Yeah 4.10's will really give it kick after that get a tune up with all good spark plugs and wires ect. that exhaust will do good after you install it,you should feel alot of difference when you do that, theres alot more other stuff you can do,heads, cam, intake, drag radial's and your GT should be coming along pretty nicly with a mild setup like that, also bigger throttle body bigger mass air meter with #24 injectors(after the heads and stuff),just little stuff like that will get you faster with ease.

if it's shaking at idle, that's a problem. I know you want to go fast, but I'd make sure you've got a solid platform to work from first. How about a tune up (plugs, wires, cap and rotor, coil, idle air control, TPS etc).

ya,I'd get it tuned first,I don't think somone driving a sentra should be saying your car's slow?,but I never drove a 95,so I wouldn't know, after you know its running as good as it can, then start bolting on...If I ever lost to a sentra,I'd burn my car!

i drive a stock fox gt and my friends at school all drive chevys. all i have to say is suck it up u gotta 5.0 tune it n use it. but first get that idle shake under control. once u get those 4.10's and those minor mods u'll easilly sh*t on them and make them wish they had a 5.0.

My 5.0 is pulls real hard, and all I have are mods listed below. As said before get that idle under control and a good tune up, those 4.10's will give your car the kick you want. If you've got the money put some strong heads on there and if you havent already you'll be kicking their asses. 5.0 power baby!

its that slushbox that ford calls a transmission i got a 94 and my car seems slow and put gears in it it will really wake that thing up but do a tune up first that could be some off your problem and when doing the exhaust make sure u get the headers tight or u will have a nasty sounding tick

dont feel too bad, the '95 was a slow year, they had upgraded
to heavier body, but didn't upgrade any more power.

first: get a tune up like said earlier

second: put in 4.1 gears, you wont believe the difference

third: budget $2,000-3,000 and put on some heads or a super charger or both
and you will smoke your friends every day

check out this kit: would really wake up that engine
