Default Just bought a 88 mustang

just got a 88 mustang drop top shell. the motor and tranny are no good and i want some ideas as to what to fill it with. want to spend around 2 g's for a motor and tranny so that i can get it on the road and was looking for some ideas as to what to get. this is my first stang so any help would be greatly appreciated. if anybody knows who to get at that has great deals on things to get me ready, im all ears

go to a junkyard, find you a 351W, and a used tranny.

motor alone will prob cost u over a grand + accesories so thats already close to 2 grand for just the motor... not including install labor.

u could go to a junk yard and look for a used 302 and have it rebuilt. probably ur cheapest option..

if its coming from a junkyard.. 99% chance u will need to.

are u doing all the work urself or paying someone?

finding a good 351W in a junkyard wont be as easy as finding a good 302. the cheaper solution would be the 302... obviously a 351 makes more power but power is money...

im gonna have to pay someone to do the whole thing rebuild, put it in, set it up the whole thing. u wouldnt by chance be in the tx area or know anyone that knows there stuff and wont try to rip me off?

nah man im up north otherwise i'd help u out

i just read a thread where someone just picked up their engine from a shop in TX and they were very happy with it.

make a new thread or do some searching, you'll come up with something
