3.73's vs. 4.10's
hey guys, i recently purchased a set of 4.10s. I was having mixed emotions about it because some friends said go with 3.73 and others said 4.10. I got a 88 GT w/ jasper crate motor, world class t5, centerforce dual friction, 65mm bbk TB, underdrive pulleys, mac equal length headers, mac off road x pipe and dual chamber flows. Im lookin into gettin the street heat upper and lower trick flow intake soon as well. My best ET was 14.0 on street tires before the headers and throttle body. I took the car off the road for the winter and im just building it up for spring/summer. I wanna have a 12 sec street car but still be able to cruise around and not turn my car into a trailer queen race car. I just want an opinion whether to go wit the 3.73s or 4.10s. Thanks guys

RE: 3.73's vs. 4.10's
if your car was a t56 then 410s but since you got a junk t5 you should of went 355s or 373s. your going to be limited topend with the 373s. and when you hit the track you want to be in the lowest gear with the highest rpm thru the traps.
373s in a t5 car top out around 130
410s in a t5 car top out around 120s

If you are running a stock cam use 3:73 or 3:55's you dont need tokeep power band past 5400 rpm. if you ars running a h/c/i probably go with 4:10's
But it really depends on so much what is the car for cruising? drag race? road race? so many peaple use the wrong gear for the wrong engine combo.i run a motor that peaks at 6600 so in the 1/4 mi i need 4:30 to keep me in the rpm range i need,oh yea i drive it on the street all summer usually 3-4000 mi lots of highway.

god t-5's are under rated .... the only reason ppl think theyre junk is because they break through the hell you put em through lol.... but anyways go with 3:73's all around best for a stang

I agree still on my first one....your still far from a 12 sec run....the 4:10's will wake to car up and 1st will be short so when cruising just pull off in 2nd....you need a cam changes and some supension mods to get in the 12's
battery relocated
drag shocks 70/30 50/50 these do well on the street
bfg's D/R or et streets
lighter wheels will help
