hey dude thats a bunch of bull****,,,,351 w heads, will bolt ,,have to use special washers under the head bolt thats it,,can use same manifold ,,i just your are TALKING A WINSOR NOT A CLEAVLAND...???the only sence i see in this swap is because of the older heads with the smaller chambers,,to bump the compression,,and the lager valves..right??thaty will bump you up 2 points in compression ,,as you 9.1 to 1...you have close to 11.1 to 1,,,,same every thing ,, you will have to use adjustable rockers..

if you do some port work to the older 351 heads you can get prety good number out of them over stock and say the gt40p irons , i got the older ones with alot grinding to pretty good numbers . if your on a budget i a good way to go.

Unless you go through the time and trouble to do the porting it is not worth it.

My heads are 351's off a 78 351 out of a T-Bird and by the time i got done i could have easily bought some new heads. But again i did all my own work and then had the valve job done and milling done by a shop since i dont have acess to those machines.

It was however a good learning experience and if you are on a budget like i was thats a good way.If time is of the essence then buy some HIPO heads if funds permit.

Is the 351 intake manifold not wider?

Be carefull! I have 351W heads on my 302 and I have to run high octane. Granted, I want the high compression (with dome tops) and you may as well. But, unless you want to spend more on gas and octane boost or 110, then I suggest that you may want to consider other options. 110 does not come cheap (3.79 gal here in MI). This combo is not cruiser friendly. I love the performance, as this car is not my daily. With the porting and polishing, you can improve horse significantly.

nomainfolds the same on the head swap.. use same 302 intake,,,351w blocks are wider but not when putting 351w heads on a 302 block ,,,i had D00E CASTING HEADS ,,1970,,SHAVED .010,, 58ccs,,,1.84/1.54 valves...port matched just sold a set a had for $400.00,,with rocker arms,,head bolts in washers....they ehere alot better than the day 78 which had 68ccs,,,,dont waste your time if you have them ,,,D00E CASTING ...
