Default major wiring issues

talk about wiring issues, when i was driving the other day i could of swore my headlights were cutting off but i figured maybe it as just the gap between light poles, but my gf thought the same thing, well tonight im driving down a pitch black road and my headlights start to cut off and i flick the switches off then back on they come on and go off and i fought with it for a min then it completely stopped they worked fine. wtf ground wire? any clue?

i don't know what it is but make sure to unhook the batter when you park it just in case it shorts out and cause a fire. trust me you don't want that to happen it happend before to my 87 dakota

i would check your blinker stalk, the headlight wiring goes through that switch and they are a common problem, either the switch itself is bad or a wire is backing out of the connector, had the same problem on my old 87gt.

i had this problem in my 86, it ended up being the headlight switch itself that was bad.

check the condition of the connector on the back of the headlight switch. mine was old and cracked and had a poor connection. you can get a new one at autozone like i did. autozone part number 473.
