all hp ratings are taken from the rear wheels, the 96-98 4.6 is deffintily slower than the 5.0's and the later 4.6's
thats not true. The PI Mustangs are rated at 260, and they dyno at 230. You see the same loss on dynos for the SNs. its about 15% which puts it at proper drivetrain loss.

Not until 93...that's why everyone thinks they had less power after that year. What's funny is that Ford rated the RWHP on a stock fox at 205, but I've NEVER seen it that high stock. It's usually 180-190 at the wheels bone stock.

are yall sure the 94-98 were all the same? i thought the 94-95 had 225 and the 96-98 had 215. the cobra in 96-98 is also an sn95 right? 305 hp makes the sn95 faster than the fox..lol, technically

the 96-98 is still an SN95, but it was the first of the 2V 4.6's. the cobra had the 4V heads, that's why it's 300hp for those years. the 2V was a pig. MM&FF is having a helluva time getting Project red headed step child to 300RWHP w/o the PI head swap.

I know for a fact that my dads 95 cobra had a 351 in it, did the only make some with the 351 and some with the 302?
If that is a factory ride, you dad has a pretty rare pony on his hands,Cobra R's are hard to come by, and only a limited number of them.

87-93 all had 225hp but in 93 they went to rwhp. sn95's made about the same power, but weigh about 400lbs. more than that of a fox GT. They used the same t-5 tranny, but their computers are different and it doesn't take as well to mods as the fox's do. same 8.8" rear, same WC t-5 tranny, and the same H.O 302 (aside from the intake & comp) that has redefined the world of performance, and is still doing it today. Got to love our cars!
