I think they bumped it up recently here. Im near Virginia beach. You have to be 15 and 6 months to have a permit here and 16 and 3 months to drive alone with a 90 day.

Has anyone personally used the MGW short throw shifter?

It's 16 in TX, too. 15 for a learner's permit or hardship license.

Anyway, I good tune up would probably help you out. Plugs (autolite), wires/cap/rotor (MSD, Taylor, etc--NOT autozone crap), fuel filter, check your inj's & timing. Make sure your timing is at least 10*. You will get a little better performance if you bump it up to 12-13, but be careful of pinging and you'll have to use higher octane gas (bad time right now, that crap is expensive!!).

wow thats really young to be driving. You gotta be 16 here in ontario, but you have to drive with an adult thats had there full licence for over 4 years . then you can take a test to upgrade to your full licence after 8 months.

yaa get the wires cap rotor, plugs, and if you have the money , a new coil.
iv never used an mgw , i have a blu thunder.

I forgot about the coil...that would be a good idea. I went and got an MSD blaster TFI to stick in mine.

Yea, its the same thing here. You have to be 16 1/2 and than you get your l's at 17.

Anyway, do the tuneup and see where your at when your done with that. Even if thats not the problem... its wont hurt.

Yeah im paying for my car, in payments a month plus gas and insurence. But I think I can manage to do this tune up. How do I set my timing? Also I only run 93 so I dont think it would ping. Thanks guys for your info.

You'll need to get your hands on a timing light. If you already use higher octane gas then you should definitely bump your timing up a hair. I wouldn't go over 14 max. 12-13 is probably safer.
