i have hurd from some ppl tell me that the late ( EXSPLORER ) model like the 90's that came with the V8 had for mustang cobra heads from the factory ...... i'm just curious as to if they are or not ? eney replie is welcome thanks .... [sm=gears.gif]

the heads on a cobra are no differant than the heads on a 5.0 ho

yeah but i thought the 5.0 HO came with ESI heads and the cobra came with GT40 heads ? what i'm asking is if it is true that the late like 90's model exsplorer came with cobra head as in the GT40 heads and cobra intake

i dont think the explorer had cobra heads. i thought the cobra did have bigger than a gt but tim know a good bit about them so id kinda lean towards what he said. but the explorer did have a gt-40 type intake.

Exlplorers had GT-40P heads which are better than GT-40 heads. They flow better, have a smaller combustion chamber, and the spark plug location allows for a better burn as it is located closer to the center of the combustion chamber, although you need special header because of that.

the late 5.0 explorers (97-99 i think) had gt40-p heads. they are similar to the gt40's but not exactly the same.
these heads are an inexpensive upgrade to the stock 5.0 gt heads (they are E7TE's).
Although if you plan on using them, you have to get special headers...something to do with the
spark plugs i think.

ok so they came with GT-40P heads thanks for the info the reazon why i have been asking is cause some one told me they came with gt-40 heads but i was not shure now that i have found that out i was thinking of going with the gt-40p heads that came on the exsploer and putting a set on a 302 but dont no of what all of a easy job it whould be
