Default forced into mods

well I've been out in the field training for the past for months and I finally go to cruise the 5.0 and now there is problems. Of course I just sold my explorer a few days ago too.

well anyways, it feels like my starter is jacked now, it feels like the armature is not engaging all the way or it pulls back in when trying to start it, this is while I have jumper cables hooked up too, and the battery is a few mo nths old.
So now I'll probably go for a hi-torque mini-starter (how much lighter is that starter than stock?) is it worth it? or should i just go for a stock starter? If the flywheel teeth got messed up I'll be upgrading to a lightweight billet unit. On top of this new problem I replaced the intake manifold gaskets a few days ago and dont even know how it runs now. One of the valve cover bolts broke. and when I was driving it a few months ago it overheats. Holy **** I feel in deep but it's alright cuz i can upgrade in all areas.

What is the weight savings on a mini starter? 10-20lbs?

I wouldnt think any more than 5 lbs. or a little more. I really wouldnt consider that a "weight saving" upgrade but you will shed some.

Nah not really... the only reason why I would get a MINI starter would be for clearance issues w/ headers etc.
