This is my 13th mustang and I aint never seen this before.cuts out and loses power at 3500rpm.sitting still,not under a load if I hold the pedal to the floor it will rev to about 3500 and acts like I turned the key off and will drop to about 500 and then rev back to 3500 and the pedal is to the floor the whole time.I just bought the car,it is completely stock w/96k miles.was running fine this morning with the exception of surging(its an AOD car)went to leave for lunch and it wouldn't start,had fuel no fire.came back after lunch and it fired right up,but started this crap!Anybody got any ideas?would be much appreciated!

I would check the fuel pressure also. Sounds like it may have low pressure. The loss of spark is kinda strange.

yeah the loss of spark was wierd, Ilet it set for about an hour and it started just fine.It seemed to be running a little rich before,but this seems more like something electrical.just askin around for any ideas before I tear into it tomorrow.

Remove the batt negative cable for about 5-10 in and let the computer reset, see if it does it again immediately. Also ckeck your fuel pressure sounds like a fuel issue. Loss of spark at 3500 rpm only would be quite odd.

loss of spark at 3500= bad coil.trust me my old,old azz mallory did that to me.
