In school when the chicks ask me what kind of car i drive, (I tell them 1988 Mustang GT convertible)
their faces just light up. Then they are like, "omg I love mustangs and i love convertibles"

I used to have a '89 LX 5.0 convert. that ran like a scalded dog, automatic yet. But the coupes are actually the lightest and therefore fastest. Get ahold of an LX 5.0 coupe for the best hp/wt. The good thing about convertibles is that the weight is where you need it-over the rear wheels. That's why the Super Stock guys like 'em.

Even with the extra bracing though your first steps should be to upgrade the suspension (at least in the rear). With the few bolt ons that i have on my vert (wich i wouldnt trade for a hatch) i could feel the car twist pretty bad when i hammered it. Since then ive done springs and sub-frames which helped a good bit. Im gonna go for the upper and lower C-arms and get some extra welds in the rear to help out. possibly even get some battle boxes glued in there

And the girls do love mustang verts! i picked up 3 of em from a club one night and was driving around town while they were flashing their boobies at everyone, including 6 cops having a donut party in the bowling alley parking lot as i passed. Wouldn't you know ALL 6 of em pulled me over at same time and all of them got out to talk to us, but i never got a ticket they give me a warning to keep their ******* in the car (but we all know they enjoyed the show)
