just try to restart the car. I should start up. And yes it is okay to drive it with the maf unplugged, you just won't get good gas mileage and the drivabvility of the car won't be as good.

But anyways, If you unplug the MAF while the car is off, and then start it, it should fire up. If it starts suspect the MAF or the MAF circuit. About the common vacuum lines Q. The upper intake plenum gaskets are known for failure, I've replaced mine. Also check to see if the PCV valve is still plugged in. It's behind the intake.

ok i tried the MAF unplug and this is what happened: car ran alot worse with it unplugged, so i shut the car off, plugged the MAF back in and started it. it idled PERFECT for about 15 seconds, then it went back and did the rough idle. this is driving me nuts! all i want is for the car to idle without stalling!!! and i thought i would add, when it is idling and i turn the wheel, it usually stalls. now i know the PS pump should not put THAT much drag on the engine.

if your at school if you have access to a smoke machine i would use that it works much better then carb spray, then after you check for vaccum leaks i would go after the iac i know that some iacs you cant clean if they have the plastic coils in there cause they will take a ****. check for tps as well and i think there is a plate you can buy for the iac to make it idle better

If you know anyone else with a 5.0 use their MAF to try. The stalling when tutning the wheel is a diff story. That will be either the Power steering pressure switch or the IAC.

A friend of mine had a similar problem in his DSM. turns out he had a lose wire and it was shorting something out whenever he made a left turn (the wire would swing and short something out). His car would die immediately.

Make sure the TPS voltage is at .98 volts DC.

i checked the TPS voltage. its .976. another thing i noticed is that when i bump up the idle to about 1000, it idles fine. but the high idle just gets annoying. i need to figure out my problem.

first off you should use brake cleaner to clean the MAF. not carb cleaner. try setting your tps to .985 because i get a tps code if mine is any lower than that.
