I just got done putting the gt40e intake on my 92. Upper and lower. I got everything back together and now it just cranks and wont start. Kind of sounds like the battery is gonna die, but then it will go away and crank harder. I thought maybe i had the spark plug wires out of order but i went through and i think its right. 13726548 was the order i thought it was. Would it be that or could it be that b/c i went from stock manifold to the gt40e (explorer) that the vacuum lines are different on those and i wasnt sure exactly where to put them all when i put the new one on. What else could i have over looked? Any help on this would be awesome. thanks

Did you have the dizzy removed? If you did make sure the dizzy isn't a tooth off. Does it sound like the engine is kicking back at the starter?

Ya , it was off then i put it back on. How do i know if its tooth off??

is your injector wire grounded good?

makes sure all your grounds are correct and fuel lines are hooked up right, once you get it running tell us how you like it.

make sure that the ing box on the dist is not unpluged cause they can unplug easy. Do you have spark or fuel?

If it sounds like the engine is kicking back at the starter or the engine turns over slowly or abnormally and you know the battery is good, then it's pretty safe to say the timing is WAY far advanced. But first check to see if you have spark and fuel press just as 86_GT said.

I have spark and fuel. Everything is put back the way i took it off except some of the vacuum lines. It sounds like what ^^^ said about the timeing. How would i know if i put the distributor back into the wrong place? Maybe its off a little. and as far as i can tell all the grounds are good. It acts like it wants to start ,but just wont kick over all the way. What can i do to see if i put the distributor back in the wrong spot?

from what i've read a while ago in my manual, you have to set the rotor to position #1 and have the engine cranked to top dead center, or something like that.
