its like a fuse, its the little black square thing that is near the DIS wires., when taken off the ign. runs at the base timing you set it at and has no electronic or mechanical advance through the RPM range. so you need to remove this to set your base timing so the ecu doesnt advance it while ur setting it and then plug it back in before you roll out or you'll know it, you'll hit the gas and barely move... if not stall.

you described the noise perfect. it is like a chatter. but still, ive heard of people running 14* on 87 on 90 degree weather with no problems.

yeah every car acts different, some get away with it some dont

put the timming after pulling the spout at 12 degress runs good
