Default traction bars worth it

my question is wether traction bars are really worth the increase in traction? they hang low and look quite nasty but would you be better off with a set of good up&low control arms, subframes, and good tires?

I have some Lakewoods on mine. Im not all that crazy about the way the look on it. But they do help some just not 1st gear. Also have clearance issues with dragging them on speed bumps as well.
