Default Sticky shifter

Are there any simple remedies for a situation such as this? my shifter is shorthrow, but is an unknown brand (came with the car). It shifts decently, but often sticks or doesn't easily slide into gears. Solutions? thanks

does it stick all the time? i can shift fine into 1st from a stop, but if im trying to put it in first any faster than 15-20 mph you really gotta jam it, not sure whats up with that

I have an MGW and mine kinda does too. im think changing the tranny fluid may help, however.

Does your shifter have stops? That may be why it's a little sticky, may be set too far in. Loosen them a bit if it does. Took me a good 20mins to set min juuuust right. She'll be slammin in style soon.

It would grind if that was the problem though

not really... if the clutch doesnt release all the way there can still be pressure on the plate... not enough to make it grind,,, but just enough to hang up the shifter
