Default shorties vs lt's

whats the difference between 'em ? i heard that shorties are made for low-end torque, while the lt's are made for high rpm power. is that true ? if it is, how much torque is sacrificed using the lt's instead of shorties ?? thanks.

If you're just going to do bolt-ons, go w/ shorties. If you're looking at a good H/C/I combo or major mods, go w/ long tubes. Also, I would only go LT's if you have a manual tranny. Auto's are bigger and a lot harder to work around sometimes. I like the BBK LT's personally.

i was gonna run a 331 stroker(fully built-balanced, blueprinted, etc). full Trickflow top end. and mine is a manual. ill probably throw a TKO600 in it when all said and done. or a G-Force T5. either way though, im going with BBK for headers.

W/ that setup I'd definitely go LT's. I've been looking at the ceramic BBK's on summit for $369. I don't want to have to replace anything down the road b/c of corrosion ....

I had MAC LT's on my 88GT automatic and it was the biggest b*tch in the world to get them on/off. Put it this way, I was pulling my motor and I had to pull the motor 3/4 of the way out to get the headers off. I dont know if thats just MAC but they were very difficult to install.
