I just bought an 89 notch 5.0 about a week ago. Car is in decent shape but it stalls when it is warming up. Once it is warmed up it runs good. The check engine light comes on when it gets about 1000 rpms when in neutral warming it up. Does any1 have any suggestions on what the problem might be and how to fix?

Scan the ecm to see what codes it's setting.

check your base timing. the guy before me advanced the timing to 26*. that caused me to idle pretty rough! if thats ok, try this site.
