I'm 17 and the only reason that I own two 5.0s is because I don't speed and don't do stupid **** in my car lol and I've bought them both myself and I'm paying 79 bucks per month on insurance! But anyways, what kind of abuse have you put on that AODE? How many miles do you have?

All auto transmissions have toque converters. First thing I would do is the check your fluid and make sure it is full. If that is good then I would run it by a tranny shop and get the to drive it to see what they think is wrong with it. AODE's have alot of electronics in them that control just about everything, thats what the E stands for. I could be as simple as a bad sensor/servo ect. If possible I would PM HUTCHAMATIC and ask him because he is a local tranny builder that is EXCELLENT with AOD's, AODE's, and C4's. He builds them for alot of the drag racers around here.

you probably wont be able to sell that tranny for much in the condition its in. but if you want a different auto trans, c4's are a lot better. I dont know how it would work with your car though, with all the electronic shifting. if you're going to swap it with a t-5 i'd get a world class superduty t-5. they're only about 1200 bucks and well worth it. thats the route i would go. get a 5 speed. you'll notice such a difference with a 5 speed over that auto.

i want to get a 5 speed so bad. im taking my car to a trans shop tomorrow that my friend owns ill see what he says.im probly going to do the swap. what all will i need besides the trans?

If you are going to get a 5 speed, a used T5 will be the cheapest way to go. If you are going to spend the money for a new one, get a Tremec or G Force T5 that will hold more power.

if you are going to do a swap, do not get the aod t5 it sux. i have a tko, it is the best tranny ever. c-4 arent that great for an auto, we have broke 3 of them in our drag car in the past 7 months. if you do go with an auto go with the glide. 5spd gop with tko

Not sure *exactly* what you will need, but i would say bellhousing, crossmember for t-5, clutch (and pedal assembly/linkage) and I think you need to change flywheel, and your driveshaft might also need to be swapped out. I think ford racing, and some other companys sell aod to t5 kits, or you could go to your local Pick-A-Part and pull your own parts from a junker (usually get stuff cheap there) or your local junkyard and get everything you need.

AOD and T5 are different trannys, C4's can be made great, you just have to know what you're doing... TKO's are expensive as crap, and nobody wants a powerglide for the street (hm... which gear do i want... first? or second?) Plus for a lower powered street car, the gear ratios are terrible.
