Default RE: GOOD QUESTION

kinda sounds like a bad stat or bad cap like the other guys are saying .
Personally if it were me I'd just go ahead and replace those 2 items probably less than 20 bucks and maybe what an hour of your time at most .

Call it cheap insurance

I went and got a new cap and a stat today, I will try those. I just put a new stat in a few weeks back too. I pulled it out last night and boiled it and it opened just as the water started to boil. It was a 180 and water boils at 212 so I think I got a dud. Thanks for the input guys. I will keep it posted when I figure it out.

Default RE: GOOD QUESTION

Well, with new cap and stat, I drove it today and took it easy everything was fine, good temp. I pulled over and checked for antifreeze blowing out, none, all good. So I took back off, spun up my tires went though the gears felt good. Stopped at a light, took off hard thought the gears, then I droped a cylinder and started missing, let off, cylinder came back but seems like I lost power. I got home and poped the hood and had anifreeze all over again. Time to do another comp check, I think I might have blown the head gasket. Bastard is I just re built the heads and put it back together a few weeks ago and yes new bolts and gaskets. My anaifreeze problem gets worse eveytime I drive. It didn't do it at first then started creeping up and now this. Any other input or ideas on how to check this before I decide to tear down will be appreciated.
