Default how much can the 5.0 handle?

The 4.6 can handle up to 400hp how about the 5.0? I asked b/c at the police community center, they have a 5.0 fox thats been sitting there and havent moved it until this past month they've been moving it around, I'm thinking about just offering them for it. It looks very clean on the outside tho.

The 5.0 block is good to, I think, 500 HP. Anything over that you need a good race block.

It depends on the boost or spray you're using, but if you keep a SAFE tune on a boosted motor---probably ~400-450. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

I think they're good to 500hp.

i've seen a lot of them with 100K miles with 150 shots of nitrious and be fine. depending on the year of the car the engines can vary. find out what year it is and someone on here can probably tell you all about it. 5.0s are usually really good motors though

dayum, wish I didnt have my 4.6, will it drop right into a 4.6 SN95? b/c I might just find a 5.0 and build it then drop it in, if I cannot get that fox body

If you want to put a 5.0 in place of a 4.6 you will need to replace the wiring harness and computer at the very least. I'm not sure, but I think you have to also redo the motor mounts.

They are good to 500rwhp with a decent tune and are often pushed further and live for many years. Anything over 500rwhp I consider the grey area though. I sprayed 250hp on mine with 148k on it and it never blew.
