Screw a mechanical gauge into it and see what it reads. Is the motor noisey when the gauge drops out?

not at all. you cant even tell that anything has changed. the pressure goes from 3/4 way up the gauge to pegging it at zero really fast. its the wierdest thing ive seen in a while

its really freaking me out. i just spent 3k on the motor and i might have to tear it all apart again.

i am going to go buy a mechanical gauge tonight and test that out before i break into the motor again.

i have the same problem i have yet to get a mechanical guage but its been like this for about 3 months and motor still good so im guessing its the guage let me know if and mechanical guage does the trick for you?

my gauge works but no matter what rpm im at it stays a bar above the middle

Get a good mechanical gauge
Cut the friggin oil filter open and look for chunks/metal

got the mechanical gauge. it reads 9psi at idle and around 11 at 2k rpm's

so somthing has to be going on.

the oil filter was cut open and no chucks, no metal shavings on oil pan drain plugs.

i need ideas here guys. im out of them

ASSuming the gauge is correct and hooked up right blah blah blah.....9 PSI at idle is not good. 11 PSI at 2,000 PRM is horrible. What kind of cam is in it?


Oh, and stop driving it so you can try to save some of the parts.......
