Those with dumps please chime in
I'm wanting to put some dumps on, but I I want to keep the tail pipes on. Have any of you had success with having a muffler shop rig the tail pipes up even though there not connected to the mufflers? I've heard about welding the caps on the back of the muffler so you could screw them on when you need to pass inspection, but I really want the turn downs for the base. I've never been pulled over for not having the exhaust run to the back of the car before, but I really don't want to risk it. Plus it's much easier to weld in a section of pipe for inspection than it is to have new tail pipes welded in each year. Any ideas?

i paid 70 bux to have a shop put my Flows on and dumped. It sounds great and have never had any problem with the law, and MI doesnt have inspection laws. The only thing I do not like about dumps is the smell of exhaust that enters the car.

I have a 94 gt. I HAD dumps w/ flows...I hated it. It made my car viberate so much when I was sitting still. It's a super tight car, but man...I wouldnt do it unless you just really like that sound.
Here in KY, no emissions=good sounding mustangs.

100 dollars?! thats kinda high..by about 80 bucks. I drive mine around with no cats and no smog pump and my pipes are cut about an inch after the muffler. I havnt ever been pulled over, but i've had a cop next to me say it sounded good.....i doubt i'd pass an inspection though. In Missouri 20 bucks can get you an MVI sticker. I just do my own inspections. You should just talk to some one at a gas station shop and see what all is required to pass
