anyone heard of this?
I heard But im not sure of which but I heard if you tilt the maf meter toward the engine it will run leaner and if you tilt it toward the opposite side it will run rich? or vise versa anyone know the DL of this theory or if its true?

RE: anyone heard of this?
i dont think that should do a damn thing. its my understanding that how the MAF works it that it measures how much air is going in by how much voltage it takes to keep this wire at a certain temp. so tilting it shouldnt do anything im guessing

Not sure about the lean rich thing but I know for a fact rotating (also called clocking) the mass air will affect idle, surging and some other mysterious problems that pop up after modding an engine.

by turning the meter it changes the air velocity flowing through the tube, and hitting it...
whever said it's not true ask a tuner at any dyno.that has experience ofcourse.

what they said ^^^^. Rotating the MAF is sometimes helpful w/ idle problems and such b/c it helps find the best spot for the sensor in the airflow path. With the bends and tubing, some places make the airflow rough and patchy, so you can find where your meter reads best by rotating it.

, but clocking yes, , but some say they've had good results

thats good to know. I might have to try that. ive been trying to cure a little surging why cruising issue ever since i rebuilt my engine. But i do now remember actually putting the lower support for my MAF on which makes it rotate a little toward the fender....HMM...[sm=interesting.gif]
