Default Where all can vacuum leak from

Some of you may have seen my other post regarding vacuum lines and such. Just wondering, what lines will I need to check for leaks? Could the leak be anywhere along a mile of emissions hoses, or is it likely to be from somewhere specific? I'll check my book for a diagram, but any advice will be appreciated.

lol...shoot dude, needle in a haystack. it could be anywhere. if its whistling its prolly one of the big ones around the firewall or behind the intake.

I figured as much. It's not whistling--I just have this irritating rough idle sometimes. At any rate, thanks for the reply.

take some carb cleaner, and spray it where you think your vacuum leak might be. if the engine revs up you found a leak.

I think I had a vacuum leak when I got mine so I decided to rip everything down and start shopping for go fast goodies. I hope when I get it back together its gone. BTW im pretty sure my leak was coming from a hose on the back of my stock intake, it was dry rotted and cracked----good luck--stupid vacuum lines!

Thanks for the reply. I just got done a carb cleaner session. Sure I got high, but wasn't able to get the motor to rev up at all. That's why I started thinking maybe the leak was somewhere else. Guess I'll get back out there and do some more spraying tomorrow.

I know--I hate em. I'll track it down one of these old dinner times though. Just wish I knew what I was looking at.

I got a vac. leak, but my car is wanting to idle at like 2000k. So i imagine i got a pretty decent sized one. I replaced all my intake gaskets, etc. and it didn't start until after this , so im digging through my engine right now to. It sucks, i've had them before and they are a pain in the *** to find.

Get some rubber cement and while your inspecting put a little on anyhting that looks suspicious. Sometimes its a combination of 2 or more deteriorating hoses.
