My car is a 96 gt auto.
My question is, would it be better to swap my 2V 4.6 for a 5.0/5.8. I am looking for more performance but I am also on a budget. From what I see it looks to be cheaper to make a nice running pushrod than, modular engine. I am looking to make somewhere around 350 hp on motor, any maybe a little, rarely, used juice. I have been looking at stroker kits. I am also not sure of what kinda tranny would be best, because the aode is crappy. What do you recommend, and what type of computer upgrade would be needed? Thanks.

i have a 95gt 5.0 that goes nice and sounds great,but i think you'd be happy with a blower on your 4.6.They turn so smooth and the 96 has the same factory hp rating as my 95.

yea.. i have a 95 gt and i would say to do that too.. it would b a lot cheaper and easier to just supercharge it than to put a 5.0 in pushin 350 horses

Other than the good ole push-rod v-8's I'm only a fan of the 4v & 3v modulars but I'd have to agree with these guys a S/C setup will give you the ponies you want and keep her nice and streetable for less money, comparatively speaking of course.
